Support a medical student and bring hope to the hopeless.

Our students do not come from the economic strata of the Philippine society.  Those who can afford to do so choose to study medicine in the major institutions of the country.  We are therefore confronted with the need to support students who are academically capable to study medicine but are economically disadvantaged.  The school has embarked on scholarship grants that pay for the student’s tuition.  However, upon graduation the recipients are obliged to return service by committing to practice medicine in the region for a time equivalent to the years of their scholarship grant.

We enroll about 15-35 students each year depending on the qualification of the applicants.  Over the last fifteen years, we have graduated 164 students.  Of these,85.61% have passed the national medical licensure board examination, 50% of our board certified graduates are now occupying medical positions in distant communities once considered doctorless areas.  Equipped in skills of community development, these medical missionaries are affecting changes in these isolated communities, making a difference in the lives of the desolate, bringing hope to the hopeless.
